| On May 31st, 2008, the ice started to move off Yellowstone
Lake. There is only one outlet on the lake, and that
is the Yellowstone River. The ice moves down the river
and stacks up as it hits Fishing Bridge. I expected
a crunching, grinding sound but that's not what we
heard. If you walk out on the bridge, and listen,
the sound you hear is like 10's of thousands of glass
crystals tinkling in the wind. A beautiful site, and
beautiful sound. I site and sound I'll remember for
years, and be thankful I was fortunate enough to witness.
