| This is what we woke up to on July 31st. The park
was blue with smoke and the odor of burning trees
was strong. The wind had changed during the night
and blew the smoke to us, but didn't move the fire
a "whole" lot closer. It was only a 3 mph
wind, but taught us a lesson. We had always slept
with the vents in the MH open, from that day they
were closed at night. That proved to be a good move
because there were several nights where the winds
died, the fire laid down, and the smoke settled on
all the lower areas. We are a lower area where we're
at, at 7,800 feet. |
