01-DSLookAngle

DSLookAngle
This is the first step, for me. I still use this tool, because I have to set up 2 dishes. The rooftop, Winegard DTV dish, and the Dustyfoot. So my steps are, plug in the DTV/TIVO, and while that is booting up, I open this tool. I enter the Lat/Long into DSLookAngle, and then enter the direction the MH is pointing. I select DTV 101 as my first satellite, crank the dish up, and turn it to the approximate direction of the satellite. I then change the satellite selection to 117 SatMex 5, pick up the Align-A-Site, and set it up with the proper settings. I finish pointing the DTV dish, then go out and start on the Dustyfoot.

I don't have a Bird on a Wire for the Dustyfoot. When I got the Dustyfoot, I already had the rooftop TV dish, and I didn't want to mess with more wires, so, 2 dishes work for me. Well, actually 3. I have a tripod DTV dish in one of the bays that I set up when I'm deep in the trees, and that's only been 3 times in 24 months.
