Put the dish on the tripod
It's pretty easy to put the dish on the offset arm of the tripod without the LNB arm attached, and that's what I do. Note that I've invented my own system for securing the tripod. It's large spikes, with a small link of chain between them. I pound these into the ground at the opposite angle of the tripod legs. I've had this in really high winds, and it stayed upright, solid as a rock.
