Find the satellite
OK, go out to the dish, and find the satellite. Sometimes it doesn't take much, other times you have to work a bit. I have a harder time at the edges of the satellite footprint, and it gets a lot easier the when I move into the footprint area. Start by sweeping the sky side by side, slowly, and watch the OPI. Go a few degrees to each side of the compass setting. No signal, adjust the elevation up or down a bit and repeat until you get a green bar lock on signal strengh. You won't get over 30 if you're on the wrong satellite, the second you hit 30 or above, its time to tweak.
