Surge Guard

This is an item I added in August of '04. The Surge Guard tests the shore power for over/under voltage, proper polarity, proper ground before transferring power to the coach. After that it consistently monitors for surges and spikes, over/under voltage and any other power problems. If it detects something wrong it will cut power to the coach before any damage can be done to the components inside.

$360.00 and worth every penny. The very first time I plugged into shore power in an RV park after installing this thing, it worked as advertised. Everything was working fine on a really hot day (106 degrees) when the power went off. Nothing. Zip. Went to work with the circuit tester and kept trying to get power to the coach. Nothing helped. It seemed like one leg of the power was missing. Checked all my connections and they were good. Had checked the receptacle several times and finally caught it showing 120 volts across the 2 hot leads. The darn pedestal connections were bad. Had the park move me to another site and everything worked fine.
