Knowing I will want some later in the day and not wanting to take time to fill the thermos I put a washcloth under the pot. The pot then kinda jams between the bottom of the coffee ground holder and the washcloth. We liked the brown color because it doesn't show stains. I should say that this is the way we store the pot, even when empty. Saves on limited storage space.
