This is my solution to the battery drain problem with the Ford F53 Chassis.

The charger is located in the storage bay just to the left of the coach door. The battery compartment is under the steps as you enter the coach...

Because the steps and several other items in the coach draw down the battery, after setting for about 3 weeks the only way to start the engine was to use the Aux Assist switch. I didn't like to see this battery being drained like this and did not like the idea of a disconnect. As long as the MH is plugged into power the unit will read battery voltage. When the battery is fully charged the unit turns off, when voltage drops below a given level, the unit turns on.

Because my MH is stored in my shed and plugged in my battery problem is solved.

I really need to give Steve Wolf some credit for this idea, he's the one who got me thinking along these lines in a thread on the rec.outdoors.rv-travel newsgroup. He has a great website and a lot of cool ideas, visit him at http://www.wolfswords.com/
