Keeping the rig clean. The built in vacuum cost $329.00, but it sure has made life easier.

The system installed.

The old canister is on the left. Quite a size difference.

Looking at the whole bay, with vacuum in place.

The hose plug in is on the left. When the hose is plugged in, the vacuum starts.

Built in Vacuum Installation

The vacuum is a Beam model RV 145. I bought it from Kramer Beam Vacuums in Stacy, Mn. and they will ship the system to you. It weighs 15.5 lbs., not counting the tools and it's 10" high by 11" in diameter. The system comes with most of the hardware needed for installation, a 8 foot hose that expands to 32 feet, and a full set of vacuum cleaner tools. I had to buy the 90 degree angle pvc and some wall extensions to get from the cargo bay to the inside of the step, a distance of 3 feet. It's a 120 volt, 8.5 amp system, and this install was easy, because I had already installed a dual 120 volt receptacle for my float charger in the storage bay..

The old canister weighs over 17 lbs, is larger, and a PITA to get out of the bays every time we want to vacuum. With this system we keep the hose and tools in the closet in the bathroom area. If we want to use the vacuum, it's walk back to the closet, get the hose and plug it into the hose connection at the step. It seems to have more suction by far than the old canister, and it is quieter. I installed the system in the bay so that it exhausts outside the bay, and therefore the rig.

With the hose as long as it is we can pull the car up along side the MH and use the vacuum to clean the car. This modification to the rig is something I wish I'd done a long time ago.
