071-19-2006 2-01-56 PM On January 19, 2006 we drove over to Kennedy Space Center hoping to see the launch of the Mission to Pluto. It's a piano sized package, powered by 23 lbs of plutonium. The launch vehicle was an Atlas V missile with 5 solid state boosters. The mission had been delayed 2 times. It was supposed to launch on the 17th, and was canceled because of high winds. On the 18th it was canceled because of a power failure at the John Hopkins University Center that controlled the probe. The launch was scheduled for 1:00 PM EST, and was postponed several times because of cloud cover, then at 1:59:44 on my camera clock, WOW!
