The Adventure Continues
Mississippi Gulf Area. We drove from Summerdale, AL up to I-10, then West to the Biloxi, MS exit. From there down to US-90 and West on US-90 for several miles. The devastation was worse than anything you can imagine. What you've seen on TV doesn't begin to give the full impact of the damage. It goes on for miles, and what we saw is only a small part of the total area. Everything along the coast highway is gone, or in total ruin. They have been hauling debris for months, and still have a lot left to move. My first impression was, "Why haven't they done more", then I began to realize how much had been done, it was just that the destruction was so total, and so wide spread.

People are working on their property. FEMA trailers are setup and RV's are parked on lots. There are signs all along the side of the road saying "Thank you FEMA". It's getting done, but it will take years, not months. Take a look, and try to imagine what you see going on for over 40 miles.
